1 CITY OF ROSEVILLE 2 SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE No. 13XX 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10, SECTIONS 1005.01 THROUGH 1005.09, 4 PERT AINING TO BUSINESS ZONING DISTRICTS 5 The following is the official summary of Ordinance No.13XX approved by the City Council of Roseville 6 on February 9, 2004: 7 The purpose of this ordinance is to use contemporary terminology and "land uses" in this 8 section of the code, reduce repetition, and include charts for easier reference. This ordinance 9 clarifies and revises language. It adds land use charts and required dimensions charts. 10 The new format consolidates the dimensional requirements on one page and reformats the land 11 uses allowed in the business districts into one standard chart, similar to the work that was done 12 earlier for the residential zoning text. 13 14 This amendment, if passed, would eliminate approximately forty percent of the duplicated text 15 in this section of the code. For example, the uses are regulated by distance to a state or federal 16 highway. This is old language used when the city had undeveloped land near such roads. 17 Today, the community is 99% developed and this separation issue does not apply. 18 19 New definitions have been added for each zoning district section, providing a clearer 20 understanding of the uses that may be allowed therein. Districts B-2 through B-4 and SC are 21 primarily retail use areas and is now characterized as such in the land use charts. B-1 is a non- 22 retail, limited office district and B-1B is a limited office and retail district, both are near 23 residential uses. The B-6 zoning district is a mixed use business park district that requires 24 approval of a site-specific PUD to be effective. 25 The ordinance takes effect upon this publication. 26 A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours in 27 the office ofthe City Manager at the Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, Minnesota 28 55113.
