CITY OF ROSEVILLE
SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE No. 1302

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 10, SECTION 1011, SUBSECTION 1011.01
THROUGH 1011.05 PERTAINING TO NONCONFORMING USES AND
STRUCTURES AND DEFINTIONS (SECTION 1002.02)

The following is the official summary of Ordinance No. 1302 approved by the City Council of
Roseville on February 9, 2004:

This ordinance defines a nonconforming "structure". Currently only nonconforming "use" is
defined. The ordinance allows a pre-existing residential structure in an R-1 or R-2 zoning
district to expand along the same setback lines as currently exists on the parcel, as long as
the new addition comes no closer to a property line nor increases another non-conforming
requirement on the site. On a site where a legally conforming building has been made
substandard by public agency actions that revise right of way lines or property lines, the
building will remain a legally conforming structure. However, any additions to the structure
must meet the current required setbacks. The ordinance takes effect upon this publication.

A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office
hours in the office of the City Manager at the Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive,
Roseville, Minnesota 55113. A copy of the ordinance and summary is also posted at the Reference
Desk of the Roseville Branch of the Ramsey County Library, 2160 Hamline Avenue, Roseville,
Mn. 55113, and on the internet web page ofthe City of Roseville (w,,,'w.ci.roseville.mn.us).

Attest:

~&Po

Neal Beets, City Manager

\\Victoria\CommDev\Planning_Zoning\PLANNING FILES\3500-3549\3537 _Non-Conforming Use - Section 1002 & 1011 \Section 1011.01-
10 11.05-FINAL(020904 )2nd Reading.doc

5
