In subsequent <br />phone conversations, counsel requested a meeting with the City to discuss these issues. After <br />discussing it with Deb Bloom, it was decided that ifMr. Garley was seeking more money for <br />the condemnation of his land, he should simply present the City with a demand and not spend <br />valuable time on meetings. We have now received the monetary demand, and I want to review <br />the issues with you. <br /> <br />The first issue concerns the number of parking spaces that have been taken as a result of <br />the TelTace Drive extension. Mr. Garley's appraiser feels that the City appraiser miscalculated, <br />and that there are fewer spaces than what was taken into consideration in the City's appraisal <br />report. Counsel for Mr. Garley indicated yesterday that Mr. Garley would accept "$5,000 to <br />$10,000" as compensation for the lost parking. <br /> <br />The second issue concerns lost rent in the six apartments that will be right next to the <br />new street. Mr. Garley's appraiser feels that this lost income was not taken into consideration <br />in the City's appraisal, and that it is WOlih an additional $20,000 in compensation. <br />
