RICHARD F VERHAGEN
176 S OWASSO BLVD W
ROSEVILLE, MN 55113

C02 546

May 28, 2003

Dear Richard,

Another summer is upon us and I hope that it will be a good one for you and your son
Alex. I am writing today to ask for a consideration on your part.

First, I want to thank you for all the cooperation you have given me in the past. It has
been much appreciated. That said, as you know, we have been working together since the
autumn of2001 to resolve the issue of outside storage of items that are a part of your old
inventory of flea market merchandise. You have discontinued this business and slowly,
you have been divesting yourself of the many items stored at your home. Over the last
year and a half, I have received several inquiries from residents asking me ifthere wasn't
some enforcement issue that I should be attending to regarding 176 S. Owasso. In each
case I infom1ed the complaining pmiy that I was working with you and that you were
working to clear your property. They each agreed to remain patient with the process for a
reasonable amount oftime. To date, I still receive complaints.

Today, Richard, I am writing you to ask that you complete this task within 30 days and
that you either store inside or remove from your property the remainder of the inventory.
Specifically, Section 407.02H of the City Code prohibits the outside storage of
machinery, fumiture, household fumishings, appliances and inoperable equipment. Also,
Section 407.02M prohibits the outside storage oflumber, pipe and similar materials.
Additionally, allow me to caution you that storing theses items under a tarp would not
constitute compliance.
