G!ne Parranto ~ property owncrl with regard to the fire service require- ments for the Coventry Project as proposed and tlhich \Ii 11 app!!ar before the April 7th Planning Commission meeting. The parties to the project were concerned over the fire deparbment's requirement of total spr1nklering of all buildings in the co~plex and as a result have proposed a number of alternates to the c~~plete spr1nklering of all buildings. The alternates to that sprinklering are as fo11o\ls: 2 and 3 story lO\l~risc buildings 1. the third flOaT of all three story buildings shall be com~letely sprinklered~ inc1uding corridors and apartment units themselves. The only areas that are permitted to not be sprinklered are s~al1 linen clos~t type of areas. 2. the fil~ and ,make detector systems 1n these buildings shall be tied back to a panel in the seven stcry ~ain enunciator area and shall indicate 2 zones north co~plcx - south comph'x 3. there shall be a visual outdoor indicator light . (red beacon ray) on all 2 and 3 story buildings to definitively sho\'! \1llich building in the north or south c~lex is in alann st~ge. 4. the exterior of t:le 2 and 3 story buildings shall have a brick \'Iainscot u:;. to tile top of the fi rst Ovor level in order to reduce the anount of probability of an external fire i.e. fron barb2CU2 or ru~bish extending up the exterior of the building and into other apartm~nt units. 5. provide a ~inin~n of 10 feat distanc~ b~~'ecn t~~ 2 and 3 story buildings or il rated exterior \lall on the 3 story building \there it abuts the 2 story bui1din~.
