Hinnesat& 55113 ~ , ~ ~ Dear Hr. tbll: 1 would like to go on record as strongly opposed to the high-rise 81fartment cOl'lplex proposed for Highway 36 - Fairview area. 1 am a near neighbqr to the area in que~,ion and 1 feel that alread~ we nave too many apartment complexes in the vicinity. Within three or four blocks Gf my hoCle we no,{ have between 15 to 20 apartment hOllses that comprise roughly 250 un,ts. This means up to 250 families are ja=med into our small neighborhood by virtue of apartment dwellings whereas houses in thb same locality con~ribute only about 50 !a:11ies. What this new complex threatens to do is create an excessive population dena1ty that will bring with it all the recognized pressures of too many people ~rowded into too small an area. too much traffic, overcrowded schools, more crl~, more interpersonal problems and tensions. the question I ask 1s why should we do it? Will this proposal help Roseville in some way? Presumably 1t will bring in a fell tax dollars, but what other advantages will it bring to our neighborhood? MOst of us moved to Roseville to get away from the crowded city and because of Rosev111e1s school syste=. 1 fear both these pluse~ will be nulifled if this colllplex 1s approved. Beyo~d all that I mention above~ I must also say that the lovely natural wooded area that presently exists on that site will be sadly missed by all of us. It is the only natural are~ that remains in west Roseville. We have all spent happy hours walking through those woods, watching the ducks, the pheasants and other species of wildlife. It will take a cour~geous stand by Village Council to reject this proposal because there are undoubtedly great pressures on you to approve it.
