Ifl.1

REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

Dl\TE: 8-22-88
ITEM NO.: '61

D.pa~ oval:

Manager Review~d:

Agenda Section:

Reports and Recommendations

Item Description:

Can-Am/Reiling site resolution resolving to
conduct zoning study on said site, delay
development until such study is completed, and
adopting an ordinance implementing moratorium.

The Roseville City Council, at its August 8, 1988 meeting, tabled
this resolution until the A1JgUSt 22 meeting, to allow the attorneys
to redrdtt the ordinance which would pernit the ~hree month
moratorium yet allow the Can-American study to proceed. Staff does
have a concern in that the resolution authorizes a ~tudy on the site
with respect to the most appropriate zoning. You will note that it
has teen Mr. Oahlgrpn's opinion that a study is not really
necessary, in that, in hlS professional oplnion, mUlti-family would
again prove to ~~ the most appropriate use on the site. Thus the
city would still be faced with mUlti-family development on this
parcel.

COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve/deny Can-Am/Reiling
site resolution resolving to conduct
zoning study on said site, delay
development until such study is
completed, and adopting an ordinance
implementing moratorlum.
