Continued.

Avenue and north of County Road C2. Th1S wetland 1s approx1-
mate1y 65 acres 1n area. The wetland d1scharges into Lake
Josephine approximately 1/2~i1e north of the intersection of
lex1ngton Avenue and County Road C2. Tht wetland area ts
currently used as a stonn w&ter retention and treatment basin
whtch will provide add1tional improvement of thft stonn water
quality through nutrient uptake by vegetation and by clar1f1-
cation due to the ~xtended retention t1me.

The water quality of Lake Joseph1ne should not be affected by
the proposed development. Sed1me~tation and ~1mmtng at rate
cOl1trol basins located on the project s1te combtned wtth
nutr1ent uptake and clarif1cation 1n lhe wetland area should
protect the lake from any adverse effect froo runoff asso-
ciated w1th the proposed project.

2. Tha project area 1s currently undeveloped and does not
generate any sanitary wastewater. Upon development of the
s1tet 1t 1s ant1c1pated that the project site w111 generate
e4.81~ gallons per day based upon 110 resident1al dwelling
units at 274 gallons per day per unit. 150 apartJnent units at
219 gallons p~r day per unitl and 201000 square feet of reta1.
and commerc1al at 274 gallons per day per 3,000 square feet.

This sawage w1l1 be conveyed to the Matro Wastewater Treatment
Plant (WWTP) for treatment via the MWCC ~lterc~ptor sewer
system. San1tary se~ers o~ the site are proposed tc discharge
into an e~1sttng san1tary sewer lateral which crosses the pro-
ject site. Durtng the final design process, the available
capaCity of the extst1ng lateral w11l need to be ev!luate~.
Alternate discharge locatlons are available t1' requ1red. The
proposea system ~111 ult1mately diSCharge 1nto ~~C
Intercep~or lRV430 via MWCC Interceptor lRV432.

The proposed pr~ject is cons1stent wtth land uses loned when
the ex1sttng san1tary lateral system was designed and
constructed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Theref~ e, the
exist1ng lateral sewer syslem should be adequate to convey the
expected sanitary sewage flows. The proposed disposal of
san1tary wastewater 1s consistent with the Metropolitan
Council Compre:lens1ve Se'Wer Plan and the MWCC.

There are no other feasible alternatives to disposal of sani-
tary wastewater lrom the s1te that are environmentally accep-
table.

b. If discharges to ground-
water are AntiCipated, prov1de percolat1on/penmeab1lity and other
hydrogeological test data, if ava1lable.

9
