As requested, the
purpose of this letter is to introduce myself and Schultz is in Stitches 25th Holiday
Boutique to you and to the Roseville Planning Committee. My goal is to be granted
permits for signage to help direct customers to our November show at the Oval.

I am a former high school art teacher, having taught in Bloomington and St. Paul for
eight years. For the past 25 years I have been a watercolor painter, run a textile
design studio in my home, and have organized and promoted an annual art show.

The Schultz Boutique began in my home with the work of 13 artists. We grew and with
2000 customers, we moved to the Highland Park Golf Clubhouse for four years. We
were very pleased to work with the city of St. Paul. They allowed us a permit for
prepackaged gourmet food sales and found us to be co-operative renters. When we
outgrew our space in Highland, we tried a year (plus two spring shows) renting
privately from Bandana Square. The unpredictability of seasonal rental expedited the
next move to the Como Park Lakeside Pavilion for six years. New management, with
plans to expand dining to the second floor, prompted our re-Iocating to the Oval. We
love this space, and current management (Kevin Elm and Bill Olean) are very pleased
to offer us ongoing contracts. We have always been respectful of our space and left it
clean and orderly.

Our sale now represents 150 artists and expects over 5000 customers during nine
days, November 2-10, 2002. The Schultz is in Stitches 25th Holiday Boutique will be
an extravaganza of clothing, jewelry, handwoven baskets and linens, sculpture,
handblown and leaded glass, watercolors, handmade paper books and cards, floral
arrangements, pillows, seasonal decorations, pottery, dolls, toys and gourmet treats.
Live music and complimentary refreshments add a festive touch. Over $30,000 has
been raised through seven raffled doll houses to benefit Twin Cities Habitat for
Humanity. This has been our way to say thank you to a supportive community.
