EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> * * * * * * * <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 15 day of October, <br /> 2012, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: McGehee, Pust, Johnson, Willmus, Roe <br /> and the following were absent: None. <br /> Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11016 <br /> City of Roseville Participation in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children <br /> Task Force Program (MICAC) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Roseville Police Department desires to join over 80 law <br /> enforcement agencies throughout the State of Minnesota who have made a <br /> formal commitment to protect our children from exploitation by on-line <br /> sexual predators by participating in the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against <br /> Children Task Force (MICAC); and <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes §471.59 authorizes municipalities and state agencies to <br /> enter into joint powers agreements; and <br /> WHEREAS, through participation in MICAC, the City of Roseville will benefit with <br /> investigative and forensic support and investigation training; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Roseville will receive reimbursement for overtime hours and <br /> actual expenses incurred relating to performing MICAC Task Force <br /> assignments and training. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that by the City Council for the City of <br /> Roseville that the Joint Powers Agreement for Minnesota Internet Crimes <br /> Against Children be and hereby is approved and the City Manager is <br /> authorized to execute the Agreement; <br /> This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and without <br /> further publication. <br />
