Household Hazardous Waste.

Ramsey County contracts for drop-off sites for household hazardous waste.
HHW includes old gasoline, old paint, bug spray, and other materials that could
be harmful if not properly handled.

There is a year-round collection site in St. Paul and seasonal collection sites in
various cities. One of those seasonal sites is on Kent Street in Roseville, which is
open Fridays and Saturdays in June.

Residents may drop off HHW for free. The County pays for collection and
processing of HHW.

The City of Roseville is also involved in many programs that benefit the
environment such as: 1) Annual street sweeping program; 2) Leaf Pickup
Program; 3) compost site; and 4) tree trimming.

Noise. The Roseville City Code addresses noise control regulations in Section 207
under public nuisances. Because the language in this section of the ordinance is
general in nature, the City has chosen to enforce noise level standards
established by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

SECTION 9. PARKS AND RECREATION DEVELOPMENT PLANS

The City values its parkland and recreational opportunities that strengthen and
enhance community life in Roseville. The City believes that recreation and
leisure experiences contribute to the physical and economic health of the
community by providing needed facilities and making Roseville a desirable
place to live, work and conduct business.

Roseville has always had as a goal to preserve open space and provide high
quality park and recreation programming. The park system has won national
awards and recognition for the plan and system. There are 28 municipal park
areas in Roseville totaling 635 acres. These parks are listed on the Park
Amenities Chart, along with their corresponding facilities.

The Parks and Recreation System Plan is part of the Roseville Comprehensive
Plan that will guide the development of the park system in the City of Roseville.
Park and recreation guidelines have been developed in this plan to provide a
framework for decisions by City officials.

Parks and open spaces serve a number of functions in Roseville. Open spaces
help to preserve and enhance the living environment of the community.

Roseville Comprehensive Plan - 2002 Update

Executive Summary -Page 14 of 16
