EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special emergency meeting of the City Council <br /> of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 22nd day of <br /> June, 2013 at 11:09 am <br /> The following members were present: McGehee, Willmus, LaLiberte, Etten, and Mayor <br /> Roe <br /> and the following were absent: Etten <br /> Member McGehee introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11077 <br /> RESOLUTION TO MAKE EXPENDITURES DURING A LOCAL <br /> EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of Roseville has declared that a local emergency is in <br /> effect; <br /> WHEREAS, the city council finds that immediate action to respond to the <br /> situation is needed in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the <br /> community; <br /> WHEREAS, the immediate expenditure of city funds is required to respond to the <br /> emergency; <br /> WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 12.37 provides that during a local emergency, the <br /> governing body of a city may enter into contracts and incur obligations necessary <br /> to combat the disaster by protecting the health and safety of persons and property <br /> and by providing emergency assistance to the victims of the disaster without <br /> compliance with procedures, formalities and requirements ordinarily prescribed by <br /> law or charter. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to make <br /> any and all expenditures necessary to deal with the local emergency on behalf of <br /> the City of Roseville. <br />
