By proper application dnted May 3,2001, Roselawn Cemetery applied to the City of <br /> <br /> <br />Roseville for a COJ;lditional Use Permit (the "CUP') for the constrUction of a C~ma.tociUIl}. on <br /> <br /> <br />Roselawn's grounds (the t~Crematorium"). <br /> <br /> <br />Roselawn is located in District 14 of the City's Comprehensive Plan, with a future land <br /> <br /> <br />use designation or~CEM" for cemetery. <br /> <br /> <br />6. The cemetery property, along with the properties that surround it, have a C1ll1'ent zoning <br /> <br /> <br />designation of R-l, Single Family Residence. <br /> <br /> <br />7. Acco:r:ding to the City's zoning ordinsnce, a celnetery is a conditional use in aJ;1 R-1 <br /> <br />zone. <br /> <br />8. The City's zoning ordinance allows for crematories in cemeteries subject to issuance of <br /> <br />a perm., t. <br /> <br />9. The Crematorium, as proposed, would be a 30-foot by 50-faQt stnzcture cQwpatible <br /> <br />with the existing cemetery buildings, constructed of similar building materials. <br /> <br />10. The proposed crematory burner is a natural gas fuel, automatic operation unit with an <br /> <br />emission control system that contiouously monitors the clarity ofilie exhaust gases and automatically <br /> <br />takes corrective action. <br /> <br />11.
