REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 1-26-15 <br /> Item No.: <br />8.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item description: Authorize Agreement for Park Building Custodial Services <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />The 2015 approved Parks & Recreation Budget includes funding for the staged maintenance and <br />2 <br />operations of the newly reconstructed park buildings at Autumn Grove Park, Lexington Park, Oasis <br />3 <br />Park, Rosebrook Park, Sandcastle Park and Villa Park as well as the Central Park Muriel Sahlin <br />4 <br />Arboretum support building. <br />5 <br />6 <br />The 2015 budget for custodial services is $47,000. Staff requested proposals and met with interested <br />7 <br />vendors to review necessary services to maintain the newly constructed facilities. The following three <br />8 <br />quotes were received: <br />9 <br />Cleaning Authority $46,040.70 <br />10 <br />Linn building Maintenance $68,520.00 <br />11 <br />Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems $69,180.00 <br />12 <br />13 <br />All quotes were reviewed and clarified and the low quote from Cleaning Authority met the necessary <br />14 <br />requirements and is recommended. <br />15 <br />16 <br />The recommended City Standard Agreement for Professional Services with Cleaning Authority has <br />17 <br />been reviewed by the City Attorney and is attached. <br />18 <br />19 <br />The general scope of work is as follows: <br />20 <br />daily, weekly and twice-yearly services <br />21 <br />materials provided by the contractor and those provided by the City of Roseville <br />22 <br />the staging of buildings as they become available <br />23 <br />compensation calendar <br />24 <br />25 <br />Daily services is seven days per week and includes year round restroom cleaning at each park building <br />26 <br />plus facility walk-through in which cleaning staff will address light housekeeping issues as needed. <br />27 <br />Weekly service is extended to all buildings mentioned above, and includes services to all areas of the <br />28 <br />buildings in addition to the restrooms (i.e. gathering rooms, vestibules, kitchenettes, office and <br />29 <br />multipurpose rooms). <br />30 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
