Planning Commission
City of Roseville
Roseville, MN 55113

Norman Gregg
1137 W. Co. Rd B2
Roseville, MN 55113

Dear Commission Members,

I received the staff recommendation yesterday and I wouId Iike this opportunity to state
my position on some ofthe issues. For the most part, I do not object with the report,
However, it is important to me to have the 22'x 24' or a 20'x 24' storage building, The
staff report notes that my garage is small and my current storage shed needs repair. I
have a riding mower, snow bIower and all of the necessary lawn equipment. My wife
also cares for our four grandchiIdren several days each week and I have to store bicycles
and toys, Right now most everything has to be stored in the garage, I also have a boat
stored on a traiIer in the garage, Since the total length is 23 feet, a 20-foot deep garage is
not helpfuI to me,

Second, I live on a very busy street. I have tried to park vehicles on the street during the
day, but my daughter's car was hit by another car speeding down the road.
ConsequentIy, I feel uncomfortable parking on the street. AIso, there is not 24-hour on
street parking in front of my house.

Third, I am willing to remove the concrete on the east side of the garage (about 132
square feet and 92 square feet of my patio on the north side of the garage, Also, I am
willing to reduce the size of the garage to 20'x 24', eliminating another 48 square feet of
concrete, The storage buiIding wouId now be 480 square feet.

I am willing to make a significant improvement to my property by the addition of this
building. Even the staff report reflects the importance of homeowners reinvesting in our
community,

I am hoping that we can come to an agreement so that I can improve my property and add
the 22'x24' or a 20'x 24' garage.

Sincerely,

Norman Gregg
