Planning File 3547: Investors Real Estate Trust & Hood <br />for a 20 foot Variance to Section 1007.01 E of the Roseville City Code to allow <br />construction to increase the northern portion of the structure's building height at <br />3075 Long Lake Road. <br /> <br />Chair Mulder opened the hearing and requested the City Planner present the verbal summary of <br />the staff report dated February 4, 2004. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke indicated that Hood Packaging, in cooperation with the property owner <br />Investors Real Estate Trust, seeks approval of a 15 foot VARIANCE to Section 1007.01 E <br />(Building Height) ofthe Roseville City Code to allow the height ofthe northern portion of the <br />structure at 3075 Long Lake Road to be increased from 40 feet to 60 feet to install an extruder. <br />The Code allows for a 45 foot height. The additional roof height is necessary to accommodate <br />vertical plastic film extruder equipment which stands approximately 58 feet in height. <br /> <br />Mike Hill, Hood Packaging, explained the machinery and usage. The existing product silos are in <br />excess of 50 feet. The specialized machinery will be imported from Germany. The company <br />may hire additional employees. The existing size of the lease space is 17,000 s.f. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke explained staff recommends approval with conditions in Section 6 of the project <br />report dated February 4,2004. <br /> <br />Building and fire permits will be applied for by the applicant. <br /> <br />There were no public comments. Chair Mulder closed the hearing. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Bakeman moved, second by Member Stone, to recommend approval of a 15 <br />foot Variance to Section 1007.0lE (building height) of the Roseville City Code for Investors Real <br />Estate Trust to allow a small portion of the area leased by Hood Packaging, 3075 Long Lake <br />Road, to have a roof height of 60 feet, based on the findings of Section 5 and conditions of <br />Section 6 of the project repOlt dated February 4,2004. <br /> <br />Ayes: 7 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br />
