I had the impression that you said everything that you
wanted to say. You spoke for approximately 15 minutes, which was longer than anyone else (with the possible
exception of AI Sands) on the committee spoke. I believe you were allowed to comment for a longer period of
time than several of the other stakeholder members combined. Given this fact, I'm not sure how you conclude
that you were cut off.

I did ask if you it was necessary to read the names of all of the stores and restaurants in the area. I understood
your point that there is already a great deal of retail/restaurant space in Roseville. However, I'm not sure that your
point was made any more effectively by reading the names of each restaurant or store when you had already
provided that information to us in your written materials. Given that we have only so much time within which to
conduct the meetings I thought it was my job to suggest that you might allow us to rely on the written information
you provided. I understand that you wanted the public to have that information as well, but wouldn't giving the
number of restaurants and stores have provided them with the same information in a much shorter time?

I have to respectfully disagree that I in anyway suggested your opinions didn't matter. In fact, I was attempting to
get you to state your opinion and move beyond simply reading a list of names.

Finally, I appreciate the time you spent on the stakeholder group. Having served on a number of these
committees myself I know that they represent a tremendous sacrifice of time.

Sincerely,

Craig Klausing

_m_ Original Message -----
From: 1l11KQtecki@CloLcol1l
To: CLt)'. cQYHCiI@ci. rO~E:!l,/il!E:!~I1ln.Y~ ;genHi~,welsCh@CL[O~eVill~,mO._U$
Sent: Wednesday, July 14, 20048:29 AM
Subject: Monday, July 12, Council Meeting.

Mayor Klausing,

I was upset that you cut me off during Monday's City Council meeting.
I understand that your job as a facillitator and Mayor is to keep the Council
meetings progressing and within time limits.

Here are the reasons I was upset.

1. I attended the previous city council meeting and had some rebuttals to
Mr. Shardlow comments but was unable to speak since the meeting
was a work-study session, Mayor you promised me the chance to speak
at the next City Council meeting.

8/4/2004
