<br /> <br /> <br />1103.010. PURPOSE. It is intended by the Council that Little Canada, consisting of slightly <br />more than four (4) sections ofland, having been totally rezoned to uses for residences, commercial <br />and industrial purposes, and containing no area classified as farm land, deems this Ordinance <br />necessary and vital in order to maintain the suburban, non-agricultural character of the City. <br /> <br />11 03.020. UNLAWFUL KEEPING. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, raise, breed <br />or feed livestock more specifically set forth as cows, steers, cattle of any kind, sheep, goats, Iambs, <br />pigs, or any other domesticated farm animal raised and/or maintained for food, produce, breeding, <br />dairying, or other recognized farm income livestock operation in the City, except as hereinafter <br />provided. <br /> <br />1103.030. PERt\1IT REQUIRED. In order to keep, raise, breed or feed any kind oflivestock <br />within the City limits, a permit shall first be obtained from the City Council. Application for permit <br />shall be made to the City Administrator and such application shall set forth: <br /> <br />(a) Name and address of applicant; <br />(b) Legal description of property upon which livestock are to be kept; <br />(c) Complete description offacilities on the premises, including source of water supply, <br />kind of soil, comprehensive data as to drainage, and location of all residences within <br />500 feet radius of proposed livestock. <br /> <br />The applicant shall pay to the City the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) which sum shall be <br />deposited with the City Administrator at the time of making application for permit and shall be <br />deemed the first annual license fee. <br /> <br />1103.040. LICENSE FEE. Any person keeping livestock within the City shall pay an <br />annual license fee as set forth by City Council resolution and this fee shall not be pro rated for any <br />reason. The license year shall commence on July 1 of each year. <br /> <br />1103.050. BOARD OF HEALTH SUPERVISION. The City Board of Health shall <br />supervise all livestock operations within the City and promulgate rules and regulations governing <br />such operation which rules shall include size and design of buildings, runway, feeding platforms, <br />sanitary regulations and any other provisions determined necessary to accomplish proper protection <br />for the public in the administration of this Code. Any person who keeps, raises, breeds or feeds <br />livestock in violation of this Code shall be guilty ofa misdemeanor. <br /> <br />1103.060. PUBLIC HEARING. Before any permit to maintain livestock within the City is <br />granted by the Council, the Council may, in its discretion, hold a public hearing and notify all <br />property owners within 500 feet of the date of such hearing. <br /> <br />1103-1 <br />
