EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 25th day of April, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, and Rog, and the following were absent: None. Member Matson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8293 SUPPORTING THE EXPANSION OF THE ROSEVILLE LIBRARY WHEREAS, the City of Roseville provided land for Ramsey County on which the Roseville Library was constructed in 1964; and WHEREAS, the Roseville Library is one of the busiest public libraries in the state of Minnesota, and has been enlarged by the Library Board several times in order to serve the people of Ramsey County; and WHEREAS, the Roseville Library has been identified by the Library Board and the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners (Resolution No. 87- 740) as the major source library in the suburban county; and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has been working with the Library and its architect in planning for the expansion of the Library site; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville supports the recommendation of the Library Board to acquire property adjacent to the current Roseville Library in order to accommodate the expansion of the present facility or the construction of a new facility. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city will continue to work with the Library in exploring options to assist with the acquisition of the needed property to facilitate the proposed Library expansion. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, and Rog, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
