<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 25th day of April, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, <br />and Rog, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Matson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8293 <br /> <br />SUPPORTING THE EXPANSION OF THE ROSEVILLE LIBRARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville provided land for Ramsey County on <br />which the Roseville Library was constructed in 1964; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Library is one of the busiest public libraries <br />in the state of Minnesota, and has been enlarged by the Library Board <br />several times in order to serve the people of Ramsey County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Library has been identified by the Library <br />Board and the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners (Resolution No. 87- <br />740) as the major source library in the suburban county; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has been working with the Library and <br />its architect in planning for the expansion of the Library site; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville supports <br />the recommendation of the Library Board to acquire property adjacent <br />to the current Roseville Library in order to accommodate the expansion <br />of the present facility or the construction of a new facility. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city will continue to work with the <br />Library in exploring options to assist with the acquisition of the <br />needed property to facilitate the proposed Library expansion. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: Matson, Cushman, Johnson, Kehr, and <br />Rog, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
