<br />, <" <br /> <br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota <br />was duly held on the 10th day of August, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kehr, Johnson, Cushman, <br />Matson, and Wiski, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Matson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 8186 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RAMSEY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD'S <br />RECOMMENDATION TO SITE LIBRARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Roseville currently exceeds the threshold population for <br />a Headquarters site; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville Library is a proven success based on the <br />fact that it totals approximately one-half of all circulation in <br />reference materials for the Ramsey County area and is one of the <br />top four busiest libraries in the State; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Rosevil1e's employment base is currently 32,000 and <br />projected to be 43,000 in the Year 2000; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the reference service is significantly utilized by <br />business which is undergoing rapid expansion in Roseville; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Roseville's resident population is projected at 35,000 <br />in the Year 2000, which is 8,500 more than Shoreview's highest <br />projection; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Roseville has increased the total number of housing <br />units by over four hundred the last year; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Roseville currently has an excellent system of secondary <br />roads in place to facilitate access to the Headquarters Library; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that based on the aforementioned <br />factors, the City of Roseville supports the Ramsey County Library <br />Board's recommendation to locate the Headquarters Library in the <br />City of Roseville; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council encourages the Ramsey <br />County Board to choose the City of Roseville as the location for <br />the Headquarters Library. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: Kehr, Johnson, Cushman, <br />Matson, and Wiski, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
