, <" EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 10th day of August, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Kehr, Johnson, Cushman, Matson, and Wiski, and the following were absent: None. Member Matson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 8186 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RAMSEY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD'S RECOMMENDATION TO SITE LIBRARY WHEREAS, Roseville currently exceeds the threshold population for a Headquarters site; and, WHEREAS, the Roseville Library is a proven success based on the fact that it totals approximately one-half of all circulation in reference materials for the Ramsey County area and is one of the top four busiest libraries in the State; and, WHEREAS, Rosevil1e's employment base is currently 32,000 and projected to be 43,000 in the Year 2000; and, WHEREAS, the reference service is significantly utilized by business which is undergoing rapid expansion in Roseville; and, WHEREAS, Roseville's resident population is projected at 35,000 in the Year 2000, which is 8,500 more than Shoreview's highest projection; and, WHEREAS, Roseville has increased the total number of housing units by over four hundred the last year; and, WHEREAS, Roseville currently has an excellent system of secondary roads in place to facilitate access to the Headquarters Library; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that based on the aforementioned factors, the City of Roseville supports the Ramsey County Library Board's recommendation to locate the Headquarters Library in the City of Roseville; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council encourages the Ramsey County Board to choose the City of Roseville as the location for the Headquarters Library. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Cushman, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Kehr, Johnson, Cushman, Matson, and Wiski, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
