REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 2/09/2015 <br /> Item No.: 8.c <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve General Purchases or Sale of Surplus Items Exceeding $5,000 <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />City Code section 103.05 establishes the requirement that all general purchases and/or contracts in <br />2 <br />excess of $5,000 be approved by the Council. In addition, State Statutes require that the Council <br />3 <br />authorize the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment. <br />4 <br />5 <br />General Purchases or Contracts <br />6 <br />City Staff have submitted the following items for Council review and approval: <br />7 <br />Budget / <br />Department Vendor Description Amount CIP <br />Parks & Rec Cushman Motor Company Holder Tractor (a) 143,140.00 CIP <br />IT Datalink Wireless Controller (b) 56,860.57 CIP <br />IT Rhino Technology Group Data Storage Units-2 (C) 22,990.00 CIP <br />Police Keeprs Bulk ammo purchase 10,078.10 Budget <br />8 <br />Comments/Description: <br />9 <br />a)Purchased off the State Bid Contract. Replaces the current sidewalk machine. <br />10 <br />b)The wireless controller provides management control over all wi-fi access points for the Metro I-Net Group. <br />11 <br />Roseville’s share is $9,827.74 <br />12 <br />c)Replaces two existing data storage units. Roseville’s share is $5,000 <br />13 <br />14 <br />Sale of Surplus Vehicles or Equipment <br />15 <br />City Staff have identified surplus vehicles and equipment that have been replaced and/or are no longer <br />16 <br />needed to deliver City programs and services. These surplus items will either be traded in on <br />17 <br />replacement items or will be sold in a public auction or bid process.
