new
have a weight rating of up to 3000lbs gvw. This class (and weight)
has always been allowed to be stored in side and rear yard areas of residentially
zoned property for unlimited periods. The proposed language change (below) will
allow this use (and weight range) to continue.

Revised language to comprise:

407.03Q. Storing of Boats, Trailers and Inoperative Motor Vehicles in Front Yards:

1. The storing of the following things for a period longer than seventy-two (72) hours
in the front yard of any residential zoned area:

a. Trailers of any kind, unless supporting a boat of twenty feet (20') or less.

b. Boats or watercraft of any kind in excess of twenty feet (20').

c. Inoperative motor vehicles of any type.

Note: This maintains the storage of pop-up campers and pick-up toppers in side and
rear yards as is now the case.

407.01 Definitions:

VEHICLE OR VEHICLES: Any "motor vehicle" as defined in Minnesota Statutes
but excluding the following:

~~

~Mim1esQta '-st<ltlltes,_

Note: This exclusion is what allows utility trailers to be stored in side and rear yards.
The reasoning is that 407.02M4 prohibits any vehicle (trailers are vehicles by
definition) with a capacity of over 2000lbs in a residential zone. This exclusion takes
trailers, with a capacity of up to 3000lbs, out ofthis prohibition.

Section1018.13F6 would also need to be revised in the same manner.

.
