<br /> <br />Minnesota <br /> <br />RESIDENTIAL FENCES <br /> <br />GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCTING FENCES IN ROSEVILLE <br />EXCEPT FENCES PROPOSED 'WITHIN A DESIGNATED BLUFF IMPACT, <br />SHORELAND AND/OR WETLAND ZONE <br /> <br />See Section 1016.16 for bluff impact, shoreland and/or wetland fence requirements. <br /> <br />Per City Zoning Ordinance 1012.02 B & C <br /> <br />1. The construction of fences over 4 feet in height requires a land use pennit. (Fences 4 <br />feet and lower may be constructed without a permit). <br />2. Fences may be a maximum of 6 feet 6 inches high. <br />3. Fences not exceeding 6 feet 6 inches are permitted at or behind the front building line <br />as established by the primary structure on the lot. <br />4. Fences not exceeding 4 feet in height are permitted in front yard areas but may not be <br />placed on city right-of-way boulevards. <br />5. Fences may not be placed in sight visibility triangles on corner lots (30 feet along <br />each property line). <br />6. That side of any fence considered to be its 'face' (the finished side having no <br />structural suppOlis) shall face abutting property or the street right-of-way. <br />7. The fence, including post holes, must be located completely within property <br />boundaries. If you are planning a joint fence with your neighbor, a signature or <br />VvTitten permission to straddle the property line must accompany the application. <br />8. For fences enclosing pools, please contact this office. <br />9. Please schedule a final inspection when the fence is complete. For scheduling <br />inspections, or questions regarding fences, contact the Community Development <br />Department at 651-792-7080. <br />10. Two business days before digging post holes, contact Gopher State One at 651-454- <br />0002 to locate underground utilities. Please note that Gopher One will not locate <br />sprinkler systems, power lines to garages, gas grill lines, etc. <br /> <br />Finding property lines: <br />Locating the corner iron monuments is the responsibility of the property owner. <br />Permanent comer iron monuments should be located below the sod level, in the corners <br />of each legally divided parcel of land.
