REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: March 2, 2015 <br /> Item No.: 8.e <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for <br />Bids for Victoria Street Reconstruction <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />On Monday February 23, 2015, a public improvement hearing was held for City Project No. P-ST-SW-15- <br />2 <br />Victoria Street, between Larpenteur Avenue and County Road B <br />02, the reconstruction of . Following the <br />3 <br />hearing, the City Council ordered the improvement and preparation of plans and specifications of the <br />4 <br />proposed project. The next step in the process is for the City Council to approve plans and specifications and <br />5 <br />authorize the advertisement for bids. <br />6 <br />The final plans are currently being reviewed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for final <br />7 <br />approval which is required prior to the advertisements being placed. This will be the second review by <br />8 <br />Mn/DOT and we are only addressing minor items at this time. Staff is asking the Council to approve the <br />9 <br />plans and specifications and authorize the advertisement for bids contingent on receiving final State Aid <br />10 <br />approval. This will allow us to advertise the project as soon as possible. <br />11 <br />The plans for this project are available in the office of the City Engineer and on the project website: <br />12 <br />www.cityofroseville.com/VictoriaStreet <br />13 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />14 <br />State statute requires a Council resolution approving plans and specifications and ordering the advertisement <br />15 <br />for bids for all public improvements to be assessed.
