Planning CommissionRegularMeeting City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive Draft Minutes – Wednesday, January 7, 2015 1.Call to Order 1 Chair John Gisselquist called to order the regular meeting of the Planning Commissionmeeting at 2 6:30 p.m.and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. 3 2.Roll Call & Introduction 4 At the request of Chair Gisselquist,City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. 5 Members Present: Chair John Gisselquist;Vice Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Members 6 Robert Murphy, James Daire,Shannon Cunningham, David Stellmach, 7 andMohamed Keynan; 8 Staff Present: City Planner Thomas Paschke 9 3.Reviewof Minutes: December 3, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes 10 MOTION 11 MemberBoguszewski moved, seconded by Member Keynanto approve the 12 December 3,2014meeting minutes as presented . 13 Ayes: 7 14 Nays: 0 15 Motion carried. 16 4.Communications and Recognitions: 17 a.From the Public (Public Comment on items noton the agenda) 18 None 19 b.From the Commission or Staff 20 City Planner Paschke advised that the City Council’sAdvisory Civic Engagement 21 Commission (CEC), as previously discussed with this body by the its Chairperson Gary 22 Grefenberg, was seeking two (2) Planning Commissioners to provide input on 23 recommendations of the CEC to the City Council on notification efforts and 24 improvements. 25 Chair Gisselquist advised that he had received a lengthy e-mail from Mr. Grefenberg 26 seeking his service with the CEC toward those efforts; however, given his tenure coming 27 to a close the end of March of 2015, he advised that he had suggested to Mr. Grefenberg 28 that someone active on the Planning Commission should serve versus a private resident. 29 Member Boguszewski noted Member Cunningham’s repeated interest and concerns in 30 current notice requirements, and suggested she may be interested in serving with the 31 CEC for this discussion. 32 Member Cunningham stated that she would be interested in participating, at the 33 discretion of the Planning Commission; noting her past involvement with the Civic 34 Engagement Task Force. 35 Member Daire questioned the frequency and timing of the CEC meetings. 36 Community Development Director Paul Bilotta advised that the logistics and details 37 remained pending; and advised that staff would work with the CEC and Planning 38 Commission designees on scheduling. 39 Member Boguszewski expressed his interest in serving if no one else on the Commission 40 was interested in doing so. 41 Without knowing the time commitment, Member Stellmach advised that it would be a 42 challenge for him to volunteer to serve. 43
