Planning CommissionRegularMeeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Draft Minutes – Wednesday, January 7, 2015 <br />1.Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair John Gisselquist called to order the regular meeting of the Planning Commissionmeeting at <br />2 <br />6:30 p.m.and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />3 <br />2.Roll Call & Introduction <br />4 <br />At the request of Chair Gisselquist,City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: <br /> Chair John Gisselquist;Vice Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Members <br />6 <br />Robert Murphy, James Daire,Shannon Cunningham, David Stellmach, <br />7 <br />andMohamed Keynan; <br />8 <br />Staff Present: <br /> City Planner Thomas Paschke <br />9 <br />3.Reviewof Minutes: December 3, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes <br />10 <br />MOTION <br />11 <br />MemberBoguszewski moved, seconded by Member Keynanto approve the <br />12 <br />December 3,2014meeting minutes as presented <br />. <br />13 <br />Ayes: 7 <br />14 <br />Nays: 0 <br />15 <br />Motion carried. <br />16 <br />4.Communications and Recognitions: <br />17 <br />a.From the Public (Public Comment on items noton the agenda) <br />18 <br />None <br />19 <br />b.From the Commission or Staff <br />20 <br />City Planner Paschke advised that the City Council’sAdvisory Civic Engagement <br />21 <br />Commission (CEC), as previously discussed with this body by the its Chairperson Gary <br />22 <br />Grefenberg, was seeking two (2) Planning Commissioners to provide input on <br />23 <br />recommendations of the CEC to the City Council on notification efforts and <br />24 <br />improvements. <br />25 <br />Chair Gisselquist advised that he had received a lengthy e-mail from Mr. Grefenberg <br />26 <br />seeking his service with the CEC toward those efforts; however, given his tenure coming <br />27 <br />to a close the end of March of 2015, he advised that he had suggested to Mr. Grefenberg <br />28 <br />that someone active on the Planning Commission should serve versus a private resident. <br />29 <br />Member Boguszewski noted Member Cunningham’s repeated interest and concerns in <br />30 <br />current notice requirements, and suggested she may be interested in serving with the <br />31 <br />CEC for this discussion. <br />32 <br />Member Cunningham stated that she would be interested in participating, at the <br />33 <br />discretion of the Planning Commission; noting her past involvement with the Civic <br />34 <br />Engagement Task Force. <br />35 <br />Member Daire questioned the frequency and timing of the CEC meetings. <br />36 <br />Community Development Director Paul Bilotta advised that the logistics and details <br />37 <br />remained pending; and advised that staff would work with the CEC and Planning <br />38 <br />Commission designees on scheduling. <br />39 <br />Member Boguszewski expressed his interest in serving if no one else on the Commission <br />40 <br />was interested in doing so. <br />41 <br />Without knowing the time commitment, Member Stellmach advised that it would be a <br />42 <br />challenge for him to volunteer to serve. <br />43 <br /> <br />
