REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION
Date: 4-21-15
Item No: 9.b.
Staff Approval: Agenda Section:
Action/Discussion Items
Item Description: Staffing Update
Background
As the City Manager indicated to the HRA Board last week, the Community Development
Department will be operating at reduced staffing levels until June 1.
HRA funded and HRA related programs are staffed by a number of City staff both within and
beyond the Community Development Department and therefore most programs will be able to
continue normally. Some response times may lengthen due to the additional workload for some
staff, but the majority of the work should be able to be managed without being noticeable to the
public through overtime and shifting workload priorities.
The following programs should continue without significant public impact during this time of
reduced staffing:
Abatements
Business Enhancement Program
Business visits
Communications and marketing
Energy loan programs
Home & Garden Fair
House Replacement Program
Housing loan programs
HRA Workshop Series
Motel/hotel study
Neighborhood Enhancement Program
Rental licensing
Rental registration
Rental registration ordinance review/implementation
Roseville Business Council
Small Business Speakers Series
Southeast Roseville Initiatives
There will, of course, be impacts on new initiatives. Staff is proposing to delay the initiation of
the contract to reconstruct the Green Remodeling Plan Book. Currently, the website is stable
and delaying the rebuilding/updating of that website should not be a burden for the public, HRA
budget or staff.
Staffing Update (04-21-15) - Page 1 of 2
