Police Civil Service Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, February 25, 2015 1:00 pm <br />City Hall Elm Room, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Chairperson Brad VanderVegt, Commissioner Janet Henquinet, and Recording Secretary Zoe Jenkins <br />Others Present: <br />Chief Rick Mathwig <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson VanderVegt at 1:15PM. <br />2. The Agenda for today's meeting was reviewed and approved. <br />3. Commissioner Brad VanderVegt was sworn in as a member of the commission. <br />Commissioner VanderVegt will remain chairperson of the commission as determined by <br />acclamation. <br />4. The minutes of the February 3, 2015 meeting were approved. <br />5. Chief Mathwig described a new video testing process for hiring police officers. This video is <br />designed to provide realistic situations and events requiring the candidates to describe how <br />they would handle such a situation/event. The video will replace the current written test. <br />The interviews and Chief's panel will remain the same. The video testing process was <br />certified by the Commission. <br />6. Chief Mathwig reviewed the 2013 Sergeant Promotional Process. A sergeant has retired <br />and the promotional process will begin in the Spring of 2015. <br />7.
