Planning CommissionRegularMeeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Draft Minutes–Wednesday, April 1, 2015 <br />Call to Order <br />1. <br />1 <br />Vice Chair Michael Boguszewski called to order the regular meeting of the Planning Commission <br />2 <br />meeting at 6:30 p.m.and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />3 <br />Roll Call & Introduction <br />2. <br />4 <br />At the request of Vice Chair Boguszewski,City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />5 <br />Members Present: <br />Vice Chair Michael Boguszewski; and Members Robert Murphy,James <br />6 <br />Daire,Shannon Cunningham,Chuck Gitzen,James Bull,and <br />7 <br />David Stellmach <br />8 <br />Staff Present: <br />Community Development Director Paul Bilotta,City Planner Thomas <br />9 <br />Paschke,Senior Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />10 <br />3.Organizational Business <br />11 <br />Swear in New Members: James Bull and Chuck Gitzen <br />a. <br />12 <br />Vice Chair Boguszewski administered the Oath of Office to new Commissioners James <br />13 <br />Bull and Chuck Gitzen, and welcomed each of them to the Commission. <br />14 <br />b.Elect Planning Commission Chair and Vice Chair <br />15 <br />MOTION <br />16 <br />MemberCunninghammoved, seconded by Member Daireto appoint Member <br />17 <br />Boguszewskias the Chair of the Planning Commission. <br />18 <br />Member Boguszewski accepted the nomination. <br />19 <br />Ayes: 6 <br />20 <br />Nays: 0 <br />21 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Boguszewski) <br />22 <br />Motion carried. <br />23 <br />ChairBoguszewski moved,seconded by Member Murphyto appoint Member <br />24 <br />Cunninghamas the Vice Chair. <br />25 <br />Member Cunningham accepted the nomination. <br />26 <br />Ayes: 7 <br />27 <br />Nays: 0 <br />28 <br />Motion carried. <br />29 <br />Appoint Variance Board Members <br />c. <br />30 <br />After Chair Boguszewski led a brief discussion and sought interest in members serving <br />31 <br />on the Variance Board, Members Daire, Murphy, Gitzen, and Boguszewski expressed <br />32 <br />interest in serving if others were not interested in serving.Members Cunningham and <br />33 <br />Stellmach expressed interest, but were unsure of their availability for any additional time <br />34 <br />commitments at this time.Newly-appointed Member Bull advised that it would be difficult <br />35 <br />for him to accept such an appointment at this time until he became more familiar with the <br />36 <br />overall process. <br />37 <br />MOTION <br />38 <br />Chair Boguszewski moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to appoint <br />39 <br />Members Murphy, Daire and Gitzento serve as Variance Board Members, with <br />40 <br />Chair Boguszewski serving as the Alternate Member appointed to serve in the <br />41 <br />absence of one of the other members. <br />42 <br />Mr. Paschke clarified that staff would present the Variance Board appointees to the City <br />43 <br />Council for their approval, and Variance Board members would elect their officers at their <br />44 <br />next meeting. <br />45 <br /> <br />
