Department Approval <br />��� <br />� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 06/15/2015 <br />Item No.: 15.a <br />City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Housing and Redevelopment Authority Strategic Planning Discussion <br />with the City Council <br />BACKGROUND <br />Each quarter the RHRA Board meets with the City Council to review activities and <br />accomplishments. The RHRA has waited �o develop a 2015 work plan until the Council <br />finishes their Policy, Planning, and Priority document so the RHRA can align its strategic plan <br />for 2015 — 2018 with the Council's priorities. <br />In order to develop an RHRA Work Plan for 2015 — 2018, the following items will be discussed <br />with the City Council at the joint meeting. Barbara Raye will be at the meeting to facilitate the <br />discussion. Ms. Raye has been hired by the RHRA to assist with its strategic plan: <br />• Overview of role/evolution of RHRA and framing of key discussion item: Dean (10-15 <br />min) <br />• Facilitated Conversation with Council members and RHRA Commissioners on roles and <br />expectations for the RHRA (30-40 min) <br />• Discussion of specific opportunities for RHRA in achieving Council priorities in its <br />strategic plan (15-20 min) <br />• Next steps for RHRA planning process (5-10 min) <br />To provide context for the discussion to update the RHRA strategic plan of 2012-2016, <br />following are some of the RHRA's Activities and Accomplishments: <br />• Work with the Communications Department on Housing and Business newsletter <br />➢ Provided residents with welcome pacicets about RHRA programming <br />• Promote all RHRA Programs <br />➢ Green Building/Remodeling Award <br />➢ 200 Free Energy Audits available each year <br />➢ Loan Program for improvements to homes that are below Roseville's median <br />single-family home value <br />� ➢ Construction services to residents <br />➢ Neighborhood Enhancement Program — Residential and Commercial <br />➢ Living Smarter Home & Garden Fair <br />➢ Hosted seasonal workshops — with partner Ramsey County Library — that provide <br />information about enhancing one's home and garden as well as energy efficiency <br />and how to purchase a home. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
