<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting ofthe City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 30th day of June 2003, at <br />5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kough, Schroeder, Klausing, Maschka, <br />Kysylyczyn <br /> <br />and the following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Council Member Kysylyczyn introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 10114 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE REGIONAL 800 MHz DIGITAL <br />TRUNKED COMMUNICATION SYSTEM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville has been reviewing the needs of the radio <br />communication system that provides emergency services to police, fire and emergency <br />medical agencies in its jurisdiction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Radio Board, as a result oflegislative changes, has the <br />authority and resources to provide financial assistance to local units of government in the <br />metropolitan area that plan to participate in the regional 800 MHz digital trunked <br />communication system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Special legislative authority has been given to Minnesota counties to issue <br />bonds for the purpose of designing, constructing, and installing the infrastructure, <br />facilities, and equipment necessary to participate in the regional system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal funds have been appropriated and made available through the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety to supplement local and state funds for the <br />purpose of participating in the regional system, for which metropolitan area local <br />governments are eligible; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Roseville has determined that its participation in the regional <br />system would improve its interoperability among its various agencies and with other <br />jurisdictions for purposes of mutual aid and emergency medical services, thus improving <br />public safety, as well as the entire region's ability to respond to weapons of mass <br />destruction incidents; <br />
