<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 5th day of <br />January, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing, <br />and the following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 10179 <br />Establish a Process and Timeline to Appoint Someone to <br />Fill the City Council Seat Vacancy <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MN Statute 412.02 requires the City to appoint a person to fill the <br />vacancy until an election is held to fill the position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to appoint someone to the seat as <br />quickly as practical. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville establishes an <br />application period from Tuesday, January 6 to end of business on <br />Thursday, January 15 with a special Council meeting on Tuesday, <br />January 20 to interview candidates, and at the Monday, January 26 <br />meeting appoint someone to fill the vacant Council seat. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Member Kough, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof, Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing, and the following voted against <br />the same: none. <br />
