RPCA Attachment C
From:
Brent Thompson
To:
Bryan Lloyd
Cc:
hihchristianmontessori; Stephen Mastey
Subject:
Re: Interim Use application
Date:
Thursday, July 23, 2015 11:13:42 AM
Hi Bryan-
Thanks for update - we are ready for August 5th as well.
1. Can you confirm public hearing starts at 6:30 or 7:00pm
2. In response to your question below.
A little backstory - The school has engaged a Landscape Designer that has been
working on both the schools behalf and the church to in essence get a deal done that
the city of roseville wants done on the church property to better handle the
undersized drainage pipes that effect directly the neighbors to the direct south of the
church property. We at HIH have been the driving force to acheive this for the sake of
all parties involved.
So far with the temp building and the school installing the rock drainage system per
our approved engineer plan I believe this has helped the bigger problem of water
when it rains hard and the current storm system cannot handle the amount of water
which backs up on the properties. This rock field has created storage for overflow
water.
Specifically, at the last neighborhood mtg (1) councilmember and 3-5 planning
commission members with one neighbor who lives east of fairview ave were present
at the neighborhood mtg.
At this meeting i briefly explained the reasons for an extension to the temp building.
1. Due to permit acquisition and code issues the building was not able to commence
until mid November -
2. Weather that year became an issue.
3. The school would simply like to use this space for 4 complete years. We are
headed into the 2nd year and are requesting a 2 year extension.
4. One complaint is the duration time of construction. This project was built with 50%
hired subcontractors and 50% school volunteers.
5. The attendees of the mtg were very impressed with the interior of the space and
concerned about the exterior groundwork.
As of today the school has taken the lead as the church is responsible for the
grounds under our lease. The school since this mtg took place has removed all the
weeds and has installed edging & Mulch around the building so that the church does
not have additional work to maintain cutting of grass.
I preferred that we hold of on the mtg so that if any city official wanted to do a drive
bye that they could confirm that this work has been completed.
