RPCA Attachment C
From:
Paul Bilotta
To:
Bryan Lloyd; Thomas Paschke; Don Munson; Brian Coughlin
Subject:
Fwd: RE: Corpus Christi Church
Date:
Thursday, June 18, 2015 5:55:34 AM
---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Tam McGehee
Date: Jun 17, 2015 8:31 PM
Subject: RE: Corpus Christi Church
To: Marc Culver <Marc.Culver@cityofroseville.com>,Paul Bilotta
<Paul.Bilotta@cityofroseville.com>
Cc:
Marc and Paul,
I attended the meeting this evening with a member of the Board of the Montessori
School--and three members of the Planning Commission. There were a couple of
issues for each of you.
As to drainage, Marc there is a drainage pipe coming from the church down to an
area south of the temporary building. Apparently students have placed a log
platform and several large logs directly in the path of the flow channel of the
pipe. Someone should probably check that out as well as plantings that could
hold soil much better than the sea of mowed grass. I will look forward to seeing
the plans the City is working on.
Paul, there are several "beautification issues" surrounding the "temporary building"
that is the subject of the interim use renewal discussion. First, the color makes
the building stand out starkly. There is some beige siding on the portion facing
Fairview which blends in much better with the existing building. The south side of
the building has siding panels on the upper left missing. There is junk and debris
around the outside of the building. There is poor, compacted construction soil
surrounding the building for about 6-10 feet which is covered with weeds. The
soil need to be improved and sodded or seeded and maintained. There is a pea
gravel area near the parking lot. It needs an edge to contain the gravel and the
weeds need to be pulled. We were told it is an area the children use--and it
needs some management. The front face of the school building has chipped
concrete in several places and a ripped piece of aluminum siding that is attached
and dangerous as one walks along the sidewalk from the temporary building to the
front door.
It was confusing regarding the lines between landlord and tenant, but the school
is clearly renting. As tenants, much of this fall on the landlord, Corpus Christi, but
as I said, the responsibilities of each party were unclear. In any case, there are
issues to be resolved on a couple of fronts.
Thanks for you help and please keep me in the loop.
