After meeting two more times to discuss
is options, the RHRA has developed a draft strategic plan that it would like to review with the
Council prior to formal adoption by the RHRA (Attachment A).
The Strategic plan is a four year plan and calls for approXimately one infill project per year.
The key strategic goals are:
Prevent and eliminate physical and social blight on individual properties, neighborhoods
and the entire community.
2. Join in partnership with other City and County entities on major initiatives that have city-
wide or regional impact.
3. Continue to provide programming to support homeowners and businesses.
4. Retain and attract desirable housing and businesses that leads to employment,
investment, and commitment to the community.
5. Strengthen organizational effectiveness, innovation, and processes.
The RHRA Board identiiied that the strategic plan contains a large amount of work for the four
year time frame and therefore it may not be possible to accomplish everything on the list. Items
that were identified with bold text were the items the RHRA Board identified as priority items.
Barbara Raye, the consultant hired to facilitate the RHRA's planning process, will be at the
meeting to provide a short overview of the results of the process she facilitated.
As a part of this discussion, the RHRA has identified the annual "Living Smarter" Home and
Garden Fair as an activity that could be eliminated to free up resources. (Attachment B). Other
low priority items may also be reviewed for modification or elimination if necessary in the future
as the RHRA starts to implement this change in its strategic focus.
