Department Approval <br />% � "�`�f p�� <br />Item Description <br />BACKGROUND <br />��� <br />� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 1/12/2015 <br />Item No.: 8.g <br />City Manager Approval <br />Adopt a Resolution Allowing a Part-Time Firefighter to be Accepted as a <br />Member of the Public Employees Police and Fire Plan <br />The City of Roseville has established that effective June 13, 2011 all newly hired firefighters as <br />well as current firefighters who desire to move from the Roseville Volunteer Relief Association <br />will be offered the retirement benefit plan "Part-time PERA". In accordance with requirements <br />of the Public Employees Police and Fire plan, a Council resolution including employee name and <br />employee number must be approved for each non-full time firefighter requested to enter the plan. <br />Therefore, the Fire Department is requesting approval of the associated resolution. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The City will contribute the required "city contribution" amount as defined by PERA for the <br />firefighter pension plan. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recoinmends Council adopt the associated resolution providing part-time PERA pension <br />benefits. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Adoption of Resolution requesting part-time firefighter Adam Sabotta employee #50295 be <br />accepted as a member of the Public Employees Police and Fire plan effective the date of the <br />employee's initial Police and fire Plan salary deduction by the City of Roseville. <br />Prepared by: Timothy O'Neill Fire Chief <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
