• Use as mulch to suppress weeds, conserve soil moisture and reduce soil erosion. Layer 2- <br />4 inches of mulch around perennials to help them live through the winter. <br />• Compost leaves and mix finished compost with other soil. <br />• Arrange a pick up with your refuse hauler. Refuse haulers are required to accept and <br />recycle yard waste, but may charge an additional fee. <br />• Take to a free County yard waste site. Call 651 -633 -EASY (3279) or log on to <br />www.ramsevrecvcles.com/ for compost sites, hours and directions. <br />The City Council has also asked the Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission <br />to research private alternatives to the Leaf Pick Up program. We will provide residents with <br />additional information as it becomes available. <br />
