Attachment <br />�•jji � <br />HUUSI[l� � <br />Recle►�elopment Auth�rit�� <br />Roseville, MN HRA Seeking an Intern to Review Hotel and Motel Regulations <br />The mission of Roseville's Housing & Redevelopment Authority (RHRA) is to contribute to a <br />strong city economy and vibrant community through environmental stewardship, investment of <br />resources, and intentional leadership. One way the RHRA does this is by studying problems, <br />concerns, and issues that arise it the City. <br />Hotel/Motel Project Summary <br />The RHRA is currently interested in understanding more about how Roseville's hotels and <br />motels are regulated in order to address the disinvestment in the properties and to develop a <br />strategy to reduce the demands for police services at the hotels and motels. <br />The RHRA is looking for a student or professional with the following background/ <br />qualifications: <br />• Student should have completed or be currently working on degree in the area of Criminal <br />Justice, Law Enforcement, Law, or Economic Development; will consider highly <br />qualified bachelor's degree student <br />• Experience doing research and writing reports with good content organization <br />• Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work co]]aboratively at times and <br />independently at other times <br />Intern's responsibilities include: <br />• Working with Community Development staff, the Roseville Visitors Association and <br />Roseville Police to review current regulations and propose new regulations or revisions <br />based on review of current inspections of hotels and motels within the City of Roseville <br />• Researching best practices and gather content to address physical conditions of the <br />properties <br />• Reviewing current inspections process that other organizations conduct (i.e., County, <br />State, or Affiliate Franchise) <br />• Reviewing report completed by Hamline University student program for additional <br />regulations that would be effective <br />• Recommending changes to current Roseville ordinances <br />• Reporting findings to the RHRA Board <br />Work can begin as soon as possible and be finalized on or before December 31, 2015 with a <br />formal report to go to the HRA board on January 19, 20l 6 meeting, depending on amount of <br />time dedicated per week.
