Department Approval <br />Item Description: <br />�:i � <br />� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 9/14/2015 <br />Item No.: 8.e <br />City Manager Approval <br />Receive Donation of Police K9 Agility Training Equipment <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Police Department's utilizes the services of three highly trained police canines- Otis, Sieger and <br />Jagr- in making Roseville a safer place every day. <br />The Police Department operates a K9 physical agility training course located on land made possible by <br />a great partnership with a private business. The current physical agility equipment to include large <br />boxes, ladders, objects that replicate hurdles, etc. is made from wood and is in very poor condition. <br />The Roseville Police Foundation has agreed to donate $12,000 of new, aluminum physical training <br />equipment. This same equipment has been used for several years by the St. Paul Police Department's <br />K9 Unit and they recommend the equipment. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />Allow the police department to accept the equipment donation. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />There is no initial cost to the city. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Allow the police department to accept the donation from the Roseville Police Foundation. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion to accept the donation from the Roseville Police Foundation. <br />Prepared by: Rick Mathwig <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
