1�'� � <br />�/� <br />Hispanic Heritage Month <br />September 15 - October 15, 2015 <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville recognizes and honors contributions of all members of our <br />community; and <br />Whereas: September 15 is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American <br />countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua; and Mexico achieved <br />independence on September 16; and Chile achieved independence on September 18; and <br />Whereas: In 1988 the United States Congress adopted a resolution designating September <br />15 to October 15 of each year as National Hispanic Heritage Month; and <br />Whereas: Hispanic Americans bring a rich cultural heritage representing many countries, <br />ethnicities and religious traditions which contribute to America's future; and <br />Whereas: The Hispanic community has had a profound influence on our country through <br />their strong commitment to family, faith, hard work, and services, and they have enhanced and <br />shaped our national heritage with centuries old traditions that reflect the multiethnic and <br />multicultural customs of their community; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville invites all members of the community to celebrate 2015 <br />Hispanic Heritage Month "Honoring our Heritage. Building Out Future;" and <br />Whereas: During National Hispanic Heritage Month, the United States celebrates the <br />culture and traditions of Spanish speaking residents who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico, <br />Central America, South Alnerica and the Caribbean. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby proclaim September 15 to <br />October 15, 2015 to be Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, <br />State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville <br />to be affixed this fourteenth day of September 2015. <br />Mayor Daniel J.
