Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,August 24, 2015 <br /> Page 28 <br /> Councilmember McGehee thanked Mr. Nelson for displaying the more detailed <br /> site plan providing a much clearer picture of the development site. Being familiar <br /> with other United Properties projects in the community and elsewhere in the met- <br /> ropolitan area, Councilmember McGehee opined that they did typically provided <br /> a nice end product. <br /> Mayor Roe asked for public comment on this preliminary plat consideration. No <br /> one appeared for public comment on this issue. <br /> McGehee moved, Willmus seconded, approving the proposed PRELIMINARY <br /> PLAT for Cherrywood Pointe at Lexington, dated August 3, 2015 and generally <br /> comprising the property at 2668 — 2688 Lexington Avenue based on the findings <br /> and recommendations of the Planning Commission and the content of the RCA <br /> dated August 24, 2015 and as conditioned. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte thanked staff for including notes from the Planning <br /> Commission meeting, opining she found it very helpful in her decision-making. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Laliberte, McGehee, Willmus, Etten and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> d. Determine Fence Screening and Landscaping Requirements for Vogel <br /> Sheetmetal Interim Use,2830 Fairview Avenue <br /> City Planner Thomas Paschke reviewed the chronology of actions and submittals <br /> to-date for the initial Interim Use (IU) permit for Vogel Sheetmetal, also known <br /> as Vogel Mechanical, located at 2830 Fairview Avenue; and as detailed in the <br /> RCA dated August 24, 2015. <br /> Mr. Paschke advised that the outstanding issue remained for compliance by Vogel <br /> with the condition for IU ultimately revised by the City Council from the original <br /> condition applied by the Planning Commission and further defining it as: "The <br /> applicant shall install opaque fencing of 6' to 8' in height, coniferous plantings, <br /> and, landscaping along the northern edge of the property;" and "Doors shall be <br /> closed during periods of operation. " <br /> Mr. Paschke reviewed meetings held to-date with the Vogel's, neighbors and staff <br /> to resolve ongoing issues in complying with the condition and meeting expecta- <br /> tions of the adjacent neighbors. Details of these meetings and negotiations are <br /> outlined in the RCA. As noted in lines 54 — 61 of the RCA, Mr. Paschke advised <br /> that on August 11, 2015 the Vogel's submitted their new proposal (Option 2, At- <br /> tachment D) to comply while addressing requirements of the utility easements, <br /> and staying out of those respective Xcel Energy and CenturyLink easements <br /> along their northern property line. <br />
