While this would be infrequently used, Chair Stenlund noted
223 opined that it would foster community level involvement and get leaves hauled to
224 a mapped location.
225
226
227
228
229
230
231
232
233
234
235
236
237
238
Member Seigler noted that he simply put the lea
in his truck; opining it wasn't the City's jot
indications that 95% had already figured it oullllll
trash bags and hauled them
.'ove people's leaves, with
y 5% remained.
With Member Cihacek noted the option po ed fo aulers providing the service
on the City's website, Member Seigler c 'feed that Chair Stenlund was looking
for a free transport service for those elderly or unable to payf a hauler or having
access to a trailer.
Member Cihacek suggested the community needed to come together for a contract
versus the City, or neighbors getting together on a hauler and price, but putting the
burden on them, as long as the City provides the information for them.
239 Member Thurnau noted several neighborhood associaii s in Roseville, as well as
240 the work of e Community Engagement Commissio EC) working on what
241 associations would look like, suggesting this may be an option for them, to organize
242 certain areas or neighborhoods as logical sectors to work on pickup management.
243
244 Member Heimerl suggested educational opportunities during National Night Out
245 or during that time period, to present this information to block captains and get
246 neighbors talking to one another at which time they could coordinate trailers and
247 needs, with block coordination to help the remaining percentage get leaves off their
248 property for the benefit of the entire neighborhood. Member Heimerl also noted
249 the potential to push community fundraising opportunities, with donations for
250 pickup for school organizations or school sports team or faith -based organizations,
251 where stude is living in a particular neighborhood or spread throughout the
252 neighborhd could work cooperatively to provide the service and reap the
253 benefits. Member Heimerl opined that the City was doing a good job in getting the
256 information out and educating the public, but opportunities may be available to
257 encourage community-based services until private industry stepped up in the future.
258
259 Chair Stenlund stated his anticipation of a one-year problem as this change occurs,
260 but not thereafter.
261
