<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1125 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 254.070 OF THE CITY CODE <br />PROVIDING FOR THIRTY (30) WORK DAYS OF SEVERANCE PAY FOR ELIGIBLE <br />EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, does <br /> <br />hereby ordain: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Section 254.070 of the City Code is amended to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />254.070. <br /> <br />Severance Pay <br /> <br />Severance pay shall be paid to the following City <br />employees who terminate their employment: <br /> <br />1. Regular employees and Police Officers who meet the <br />eligibility requirements for receipt of a pension <br />pursuant to the Public Employee Retirement Associa- <br />tion statute, Minnesota Statute Chapter 353, with <br />ten (10) or more years of service with the City, <br />who terminate their employment because of retire- <br />ment. <br /> <br />2. Regular employees with ten (10) or more years of <br />service with the City who terminate their employ- <br />ment because of reduction of City emploYment or <br />changes in municipal operations. <br /> <br />3. Regular employees, with ten (10) or more years of <br />service with the City, who die before they termi- <br />nate their emploYment shall have severance pay as <br />calculated in this section paid to their named <br />beneficiary, or their estate if they fail to name a <br />living beneficiary. <br /> <br />The severance pay shall be in an amount which equals <br />fifty percent (50%) of the accumulated sick leave said <br />employee would be entitled to receive, but in no event <br />shall such severance pay exceed the equivalent of thirty <br />(30) work days' pay at the employee's wage rate at the <br />time of such separation. <br />
