Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />March 18, 2015 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the participants were all engaged and she would like to see <br />more events held. <br />Ms. Collins stated the Commissioners are invited to attend the Mental Health Training through <br />the Police Department in April and May. <br />Chair Groff suggested contacting NAMI for suggestions for another event. <br />Commissioner Slade stated the support groups are free but the larger Organizations would be <br />looking for honorariums that are larger than what the Commission is able to budget for. <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated it would be worth looking into and find other partners to host <br />events. <br />Commissioner Slade suggested doing something for youth in the future because there had been <br />an interest in this at the forum. <br />Chair Groff suggested a sub-committee to discuss this and bring a recommendation to the <br />Commission. <br />Commissioner Slade stated she would follow up with the Community Director and provide <br />additional information to the Commission. <br />b. Report on Recent Community Events/Invite to Upcoming Community Events <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the kickoff for ACT on Alzheimer's is Apri123 for 1:00 — 3:00 <br />p.m. and there are events throughout April and May on Tuesday evening from 6:30 — 7:30 p.m. <br />at the Fairview Community Center. She stated on Thursday afternoons form 1:00 — 2:30 p.m. at <br />City Hall they will offer Effective Caregiving seminars. <br />Chair Groff stated the KOM is having an open house on March 31 from 3:30 — 6:00 p.m. at their <br />new office in Roseville and the ribbon cutting is at 3:30 p.m. <br />Chair Groff stated on Apri16 at the Library there would be a forum on youth homelessness <br />sponsored by the Wilder Association. Also on Apri16 at 5:00 p.m. is the Essay Contest Award. <br />Ms. Collins stated the League of Women Voters is sponsoring an event on April 21 at 7:00 at the <br />Little Venetian Restaurant on School Segregation. <br />Chair's Report <br />Chair Groff did not have any additional updates. <br />
