Just how much more development does Roseville expect to have in the future that couldn't be handled by City Council and staff. I was happy to see the HRA disappear and now we are going to have another one for little or no purpose. Perhaps there is a need for such in a large city like St. Paul, but I see no need for one in Roseville.Also, as I note in the description,the Council will be the EDA officers who will be making the decisions and reporting to themselves about what they do and spend and for permission for what they do. Come on guys, this sounds a little on the ridiculous side, if indeed I am reading the material right.We have an extremely limited amount of development that is possible in Roseville and as I see it, could be handled easily by existing staff or consultants. I will be attending the Ramsey County tax hearing on Monday evening to voice my concerns there,so won't be able to attend your meeting. However, I am sure that will make as little difference as if I didn't attend the tax hearing either,for in both instances minds already been made up and nothing could be said to change that. My recommendation is that you decide not to establish an EDA and do the work yourselves,which you will be doing anyway, since you will be the deciding factor on the EDA anyway.Just one more useless and unneeded government entity of which we already have too many. But then that is what government officials do. Establish more such government entities to increase their power over the people they are supposed to serve. Sorry, my opinion and one of most others in this country who are tired and disgusted with public officials,the amount of our money they spend, and the intrusion they make into our lives. Don't do it!
