City of Roseville Attachment A <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1001 INTRODUCTION, SECTION 1001.10 <br />DEFINITIONS AND CHAPTER 1011 PROPERTY PERFORMANCE STANDARDS, <br />SECTION 1011.04 TREE PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION IN ALL DISTRICTS, OF <br />THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />1 Section 1. The City Council of the City of Roseville hereby amends City Code, Title 10, Chapter <br />2 1001 Introduction, Section 1001.10 Definitions as follows: <br />3 1001.10: DEFINITIONS <br />4 The definitions in the Section shall be observed, unless it shall be otherwise expressly provided, or <br />5 unless such definition should be inconsistent with the manifest of the provision, or unless the context <br />6 clearly requires otherwise. <br />7 <br />8 ABUTTING: Having a common border or boundary. This term is used interchangeably with adjacent <br />9 and adjoining. <br />10 ACCESSORY: Designates a use ar structure which is ]ocated on the same ]ot as a principal use or <br />11 structure and which is clearly incidental and subordinate to the principal use or structure. <br />12 AISLE: The traveled way by which vehicles enter and depart parking spaces. <br />13 ADDITION: Any walled and/or roofed expansion to the perimeter and/or height of a building in which <br />14 the addition is connected by a common ]oad-bearing wall or foundation. <br />15 ADJACENT: See ABUTTING. <br />16 ADJOINING: See ABUTTING. <br />17 ALLEY: A public or private right of way primarily designed to serve as secondary access to the side or <br />18 rear of those properties whose principal frontage is on a street. <br />19 ALTERATION: Any change, addition, or modification in construction or occupancy of an existing <br />20 structure, or modification to the surface of the ground. <br />21 ANIMAL BOARDING FACILITY: Any lot or premises on which dogs, cats, and/or other household <br />22 pets are kept, boarded, or raised for sale or adoption. <br />23 ANIMAL DAY CARE: See ANIMAL BOARDING FACILITY. <br />24 ANIMAL HOSPITAL: An establishment for the routine eXamination, medical, or surgical treatment <br />25 and care of domestic animals, generally with overnight boarding facilities for animals in care. <br />26 ANTENNA: Any eXterior transmitting or receiving device mounted on a tower, building, or structure <br />27 and used in communications that radiate or capture electromagnetic waves, digital signals, analog <br />28 signals, radio frequencies (excluding radar signals), wireless telecommunications signals or other <br />29 communication signals. <br />30 ASSEMBLY HALL: See THEATER. <br />31 ARBORIST, CERTIFIED: An individual who holds a current certification from the <br />32 International Society of Arboriculture. <br />33 ARTISAN WORKSHOP: A use primarily involving the limited on-site production of goods by hand <br />34 manufacturing which involves only the use of hand tools ar domestic mechanical equipment that does <br />35 not exceed 2 horsepower each or a single kiln not exceeding 8 cubic feet in volume and the incidental <br />36 direct sale to consumers. Typical production includes: custom furniture, ceramic studios, glass <br />37 blowing, candle making, custom jewelry, stained and leaded glass, woodworking, custom textile <br />38 manufacturing and crafts production. <br />39 ASSISTED LIVING: Housing complexes primarily for the elderly or chronically ill in which <br />
