The HRC had done a lot of work to 229 prepare a question that aligned with the school's curriculum, put together a packet with the rules 23o and guidelines and entry form. The packet that was prepared can still be used by Roseville. 231 They would insert whichever question the Commission decides to proceed with. Commissioner Christiansen suggested just distributing the rules and entry form once the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions has finalized the question. She stated she had contacted Ms. Bachhuber and began working on a rubric for grading the questions. d. Review Selma, a Bridge to the Vote Commissioner Slade stated the event had been good. The documentary had been shown first and there was time for discussions afterwards. The Shoreview Human Rights Commission was pleased with the response. The League of Women Voters had a table at the event. She suggested the Commission send a thank you card to the organization for participating. She stated she would like to work with the Shoreview Human Rights Commission on another event. Ms. Collins stated the Shoreview Human Rights Commission would be focusing on Black Lives Matter movement over the next year. Commissioner Slade stated the documentary had been donated to the Library. New Business a. Report on Recent Community Events/Review of Upcoming Events 26o Commissioner Christiansen stated there would be an Overcoming Racism conference November 261 13-14 at Metropolitan State University in St. PauL There is a grant opportunity from El Fondo 262 de Nuestra Comunidad, which is an affiliate of Minnesota Philanthropy Partners and the St. Paul 263 Foundation. The grant is for those organizations that would like to do projects, initiatives or 264 programs involving Immigration Legal Services and Outreach. The grant application is due 265 October 22. 266 267 268 269 270 271 Ms. Collins requested this information be sent to her so she can provide the information to the Legal Department. Ms. Collins stated Commissioner Christiansen had been providing photos from the Global Series.
