U.S.BankPlacestoPlayProgram <br />ACommunityRecreationandPlaySpaceInitiative <br />2015REQUESTFORPROPOSALS(RFP) <br />Overview <br />TheU.S.BankPlacestoPlayProgramisacollaborationbetweenU.S.BankandtheMinnesotaVikingsthat <br />providescommunitybasednonprofitorganizationsandschoolswithgrantstoimprovethequality,safety,and <br />accessibilityoflocalplayspacesinlowtomoderateincomecommunitiesinMinnesota.Recreationandplay <br />spacesserveastremendouscommunityassetsbecausetheyofferopportunitiesforrecreationandrelaxation <br />thatimprovethelocalqualityoflife,especiallyforyoungpeople.U.S.BankPlacestoPlayisintendednotonly <br />torespondtotheimmediateshortageofsaferecreationandplayspaces,butalsotobuildaninfrastructure <br />throughresidentinvolvementtosustaintheserecreationalspacesforcommunityuse. <br />U.S.Bankbelievesinputtingpeoplefirstouremployees,ourcustomersandourcommunities.U.S.Bank <br />PlacestoPlayisagreatexampleofthatcommitment.U.S.BankandtheMinnesotaVikingsarecollaboratingto <br />invest$1millionoverthreeyearstogiveyouth,familiesandcommunitiesacrosstheStateofMinnesotaaccess <br />tosafeplacestoplayandengageinrecreationalactivity.Thisgrantmakinginitiativewillfocusonparks, <br />playgrounds,indoor/outdoorathleticfacilitiesandrepairstoexistingtrails. <br />undertheProgram,projectsmustbesponsoredbycommunitybased <br />Inordertobeeligibleforagrant <br />nonprofitorganizationsregisteredasexemptfromFederalIncomeTaxunderInternalRevenueService <br />CodeSection501(c)(3)orbyschoolsinlowtomoderateincomecommunitiesinMinnesota. <br />Strongpreferencewillbegiventothoseproposalsthat(1)seektoupgradeexistingfacilitiesthatarein <br />poorconditionorotherwiseunderutilized;(2)demonstrateactiveuseofthespaces;(3)attract <br />matchingfundingthatexceedstheminimumrequiredmatchof1:1;(4)involvelocalpartnershipswith <br />nonprofitcommunitypartners(e.g.,ParksandRecreationdepartments,YMCAbranches,etc.)to <br />promoteyouthsafetyandcommunityprogramming;and(5)provideforcontinuingmaintenanceand <br />safety. <br />ProposalsaredueFebruary18,2016at12:00p.m.CST <br />PleasereadthecompleteRFPbeforerequestingaproposalsubmissionlink. <br />AvailabilityofFunding <br />Matchinggrantsof$25,000to$50,000willbeavailabletoprovidegeneralrecreationspacesupport. <br />Communitybasednonprofitorganizationsandschoolsinlowtomoderateincomecommunitiesmay <br />submitrequestsforcapitalprojectsassociatedwithactualrecreationandplayspaces.Thisincludesthe <br />installationorrefurbishmentofparks,playgrounds,indoor/outdoorrecreationfacilitiesandrepairsto <br />existingtrails. <br />OrganizationalEligibilityCriteria <br />TobeeligiblefortheU.S.BankPlacestoPlayProgram,organizationsapplyingforgrantfundsmustmeet <br />all ofthecriterialistedbelow: <br />Beacommunitybasednonprofitorganizationorschoolservinganeighborhoodconsisting <br />primarilyoflowtomoderateincomefamiliesandindividuals.Pleasenote: <br />Page1of3 <br /> <br />
