Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, January 4, 2016 <br />Page 7 <br />Mayor Roe clarified that according to his records, Councilmember Willmus had <br />served in that role twice, and this would be his third rotation. Mayor Roe noted <br />historical past appointinent of Acting Mayors repeated based on their time, ability <br />to perform the role, and willingness to do so, and there did not appear to �be a <br />practice or policy in place regarding rotation, but that each council considered <br />each appointinent on a case by case basis. <br />Councilmeinber McGehee opined that Councilmeinber Wilhnus had done a great <br />job filling in for Mayor Roe, but in the interest of fairness thought everyone <br />should be provided with an opportunity to serve. <br />Mayor Roe stated, now that Councilmember McGehee had made her colleagues <br />aware, her interest would be lcept in mind going forward. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Etten, McGehee, Laliberte and Roe. <br />Nays: None. <br />Abstentions: Willmus <br />Motion carried. <br />c. Consider Citizen Advisory Commission Reappointments <br />At the request of Mayor Roe, City Manager Trudgeon briefly reviewed this itein <br />as detailed in the RCA and related attachments dated January 4, 2016. Mr. <br />Trudgeon noted one resignation on the Community Engagement Cominission in <br />addition to the vacancy. Councilmember Trudgeon further highlighted one eligi- <br />ble for reappointment on the Ethics Commission, but not interested in returning to <br />serve; but suggested the City Council not start a process for filling that vacancy <br />pending the January 25, 2016 City Council discussion specific to that commis- <br />sion. <br />Councilinember Laliberte aslced the rationale in Coinmissioners Gelbach and <br />Heilckila attendance eligibilities based on the current Uniform Commission Code; <br />with Mayor Roe asking City Manager Tn.idgeon to report back to them for future <br />discussions. <br />Wilhnus moved, Etten seconded, reappointment of commissioners to a three-year <br />term beginning April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2019 as follows: <br />Communit ��Enga�einent Cominission: Theresa Gardella <br />Finance Commission: John Bachhuber and Robin Schroeder <br />Human Ri�hts Commission: Arlene Christiansen <br />Parlcs and Recreation Commission: Philip Gelbach and Lulce Heilckila <br />Planning Commission: Robert Murphy <br />Police Civil Service Coininission: Janet Henquinet <br />
