SPECIAL COMPONENTS <br />Selective Information <br />Fiit�r Terminal <br />� �,. ��� �� �� � �� � <br />. . � ?��' �„k � � �� �, e ;� i� <br />Cedar Engineering Division has designed, developed, and delivered a <br />Selective Information Filter Terminal, or "SIFT", for the Air Force's, 433L <br />'.T'eather System. A 1000 station on-line automatic teletype message switch- <br />ing system, SIF`T is designed to operate under extreme conditions of shock, <br />vibration, heat, humidity, and dust with a minimum of maintenance. The <br />system operates without human intervention 24 hours a day. It auto- <br />matically handle� both the transmission and reception of high speed <br />teletype information, to diss� minate weather data as necessitated by jet- <br />age air traffic control problen.s. <br />SUPERYISORY CONTROL <br />With the acquisition of Control Corporation in April of this year, the <br />Company entered into a new commercial field. This subsidiary designs and <br />manutactures electronic supervisory controls and telemetering equipment <br />for electric utilities and for gas and petroleum pipeline companies at pump- <br />in� and compressing stations. Such controls automatically measure and <br />control electric current or fuel flow. <br />Control Corporation, over the past 24 years, has become well estab- <br />]ished as a major supplier of electronic supervisory controls. By combining <br />Control Corporation telemetering and control devices with Control Data. <br />computers, the automation of the power and fuel flow procesaes will be <br />significantly advanced. <br />A typical supervi�ory control system has been installed by Control <br />Corporation in the dispatching oflice of the Houston Lig�hting & Power <br />Company in Houaton, Texas.
