In connection with auch consider�t- <br />tion, the problem nf storm drainage within the above mentioned area t�as arisen. <br />IC �es felt thnt [he aper. ditcb extending from just aoutt� of T. H. �i36 to south <br />of County Koad "B" and terminatin� at the existing ��aatercourse wi[hin B-Dale <br />Vil.la PArk is, at present, creating ��:�blems, �nd that more inten�ive use of <br />tributary �re� would only complicate the existing situstion. <br />Accordingly� on F�bruary 26th, the Council authorized this firm to investigate, <br />study and repnrt on the matter of atorm drainage in the area being considexed <br />for rezon��n� with landa tributary th�reto. The area being considered for re-� <br />zoning may besx be seen on accompanying Drawing No. 1(Scale 1" = 200'). The <br />lacation of proposed town k�ouses/apartments are indicated thereon. <br />The existing open ditch running south from T. H. 1i36 receive� the dra�.nage from <br />an area of about 70 a�r�s lying north of the highway; storm sewers within having <br />. _ _�� - -- <br />been completed in 1965 L�mder Lacal I�provement 65-9. The storm watez from <br />a substan�ial portion of T. H. li36 also reaches �the ditch and combines wfth the <br />drainage of Impravement 65-9 via ;,�e existing 24" c�lvert draining across T. H. <br />�36 from north to south. <br />____�---__, .�--_:�__� <br />The existing ditch lying both north and south of T. H. �t36 is shallow and narrow <br />and of limited capacity. However, until the recent proposals for more extensive <br />land use, a proper and practical location for an en�losed line could not be <br />determined. �urther, adequate provisions for s�orm drainage must be .:ade for <br />the proposed stre�t and the overall site lying between the ditch and Dale <br />Street since the site is very steep an� irregular and the soil is sandy and <br />ver3 ;�uch ss�jcct ta erasion. <br />- 1 - <br />
